As some of you will know-i am currently unemployed. I used to work in the City and i read over xmas that in 2008 there were 63,000 jobs lost. So i am now on a training course in Southend.
At the YMCA centre.
It is to supposedly motivate me and help me get back to work.
The only problem is .....it is like beng at junior school.
Nearly every 'client' wants to go to work but Southend seems to be a real jobs blackspot.
Quite why this should be so is a bit of a mystery. As is the terrible pay on offer.
Just 48 minutes to London by train the average salary seems to be £12-15,000...........
Considering the price of housing and rents (ie £550 per month for a 1 bed flat) the money on offer doesn't really excite anyone.
Like myself most are resigned to starting at the bottom again,but the jobs on offer are for carers (that really can be working at the bottom),security guards,charity fundraisers and call centre 'operatives.'
The problem with these jobs is that they are menial-with no hope of climbing the slippery slope.Therefore anyone with an ounce of intelligence (27 grams) is not needed.
Therefore i think self-employment is going to be the route for me.
Which brings me to todays STAR job**************

The Adult Health & Community Wellbeing Directorate at Essex County Council are expanding the Domicillary Support/Reablement service! ( i shit you not)!
Salary £16,218 to !8,432 pro rata......
24 hours per week..........
JUST WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT?
NOBODY IN BAZ VEGAS WILL EVEN BE ABLE TO PRONOUNCE THE JOB-
LET ALONE DO IT!!!!!!
